St Andrew’s Institute of Learning is excited to invite you to join us for an inspiring TeachMeet designed specifically for English teachers and librarians, featuring acclaimed author Tristan Bancks as our guest speaker. This professional development opportunity will allow educators to connect, collaborate and gain fresh insights into fostering literacy and a love for storytelling.

Location: Learning Hub, St Andrew’s Anglican College. 40 Peregians Springs Drive, Peregian Springs QLD 4573.
Time: 4.00PM to 5.30PM
Cost: Free of charge
Tristan Bancks will discuss Australian fiction, the writing process, and the evolving landscape of Australian children’s literature today. There will also be opportunity for further conversation through our educator panel.
This TeachMeet is an excellent opportunity to exchange inspiring ideas, gain practical takeaways and connect with like-minded professionals at local schools.
Tristan Bancks is a renowned author for the page and screen. His books for children and teenagers include Two Wolves, The Fall, Detention, Cop & Robber and, most recently, Scar Town, a suspense-thriller. His books have won and been shortlisted for many awards, including a Children’s Book Council of Australia Honour Book, the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards, and the YABBA children’s choice book awards. Scar Town was named the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year for Younger Readers.
