Team for the Planet: Entrepreneurship at the service of Climate Emergency
Event description
About this event:
Join us for an insightful discussion on the role of entrepreneurship at the service of climate emergency, construction industry in addressing the environmental crisis, and the built environment’s role and impact in climate change. Environmental Sustainability is one of the Chartered Institute of Building’s corporate plan themes for 2023-2028. Team for the Planet New Zealand Planet Leader, Frederik Cornu, in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and Project Management Institute (PMI), invites you to explore how entrepreneurs and citizen are addressing climate change to reduce green house gas emissions, including in the construction sector with minimising its environmental impact whilst contributing to a sustainable future.
This event will challenge the idea that technology alone can save the planet. Frederik will examine the importance of collective shift in behaviors, especially within the construction industry, where sustainable practices are essential. Our discussions will cover the limitations of our current growth model reliant on fossil fuels and the urgent need for innovative approaches that prioritises climate and sustainability.
We aim to equip CIOB/PMI members and guest; both individuals and companies, with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage and deliver construction processes in environmentally sustainable ways.
