Event description

Location: St Albans Community Centre

Date: Wednesdays 15th June - 20th July

Time: 6.30pm - 9.00pm

Techno-Oracle Training is a series of workshops for artists aged 12-25 that aims to reconsider the way we think about and create digital art and media. In this workshop you'll learn how to create your own 3D virtual 'talisman' - an object of great importance to you. We'll cover 3D modelling and texturing , with the opportunity to add another aspect to your virtual object if you wish (e.g. sound effect, animation, special effect - you choose!)

Each week we'll explore a topic in relation to technology and the digital, especially where more magical leanings are concerned. At the end of the workshops, there is an opportunity to perform with your object in Virtual Reality, and share a few words about it. This could be in the form of a poem, prose or simple description.

Those who are misrepresented, delegitimized and or under-served by digital technologies and media TO THE FRONT (PoC/gender-diverse/queer/disabled). Poets, writers and artists new to 3D are encouraged to come along. The "oracle" part of these workshops is determined by you. This could be taken as faithful, spiritual, mystical, religious and/or symbolic. All that’s really necessary is an interest in art, technology or mysticism.

Please note: in line with our COVID Safe plan, participants are required to be vaccinated. You may be required to check-in to the venue, show proof of vaccination and wear a mask for the duration of the workshop.
