Join us at the iconic Dorrian's Red Hand (2nd & 84th) on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026 to hear two talks about the universe beyond earth's atmosphere!
TEDxCarnegieHill is an officially licensed TEDx event series (three events total) all unpacking different elements of outer space - from stars to black holes; from space food to space art- learning from the people who made it happen. This event series was created for the casual enthusiast - no background knowledge is required!
Each event will have two experts speaking for <18 minutes each + short Q+As. There will be a 15 minute intermission between lecturers. During the event, guests are invited to listen with an open heart and curious mind without the pressure of mandatory participation.
This event is for individuals ages 21+ and each ticket comes with one free drink. This event is taking place in the main bar area of Dorrian's Red Hand (2nd & 84th) and seating will be available at a first-come-first-serve basis.

- What time is the event?
The speakers start at 7pm - guests are encouraged to come early to find seats and to order food and drinks.

- Will I be required to speak?
No, there is an optional Q&A afterwards but it is completely up to the attendee whether or not they would like to participate :)

Matthew Kleban
TALK: The Cosmic Multiverse: Science or Fantasy? Matthew Kleban is a theoretical physicist working on cosmology, elementary particle physics, and string theory. His research focuses on the quantum physics of black holes, the origin, large-scale structure, and ultimate fate of the universe, and the physics of the very early universe. He is currently chairman of the Physics Department at New York University.
Dr. Erini Lambrides
TALK: Super-Massive Black Holes: Little Red Dots Dr. Erini Lambrides is a research fellow at NASA and the University of Maryland studying supermassive black holes and the phenomenon called Little Red Dots.
