DESCRIPTION
Beginner Sewing: 2-Day Program
Ready to learn to sew? This friendly 2-day beginner teen program will teach you the essentials in a relaxed, small-group setting. Perfect if you’ve never used a sewing machine before or have had a go but would like a little more confidence.
You’ll learn how to set up and thread a sewing machine, adjust the settings and master essential sewing techniques. We’ll also cover simple patterns, fabric preparation and those pesky little problems like tangled threads and getting your stitch settings right.
What you’ll learn
Identify the different parts of a sewing machine
Thread, set up and confidently use a sewing machine
Practise different stitches and sewing techniques
Understand stitch width, stitch length and seam allowances
Follow a simple pattern
Pin, measure and cut fabric
Make your own simple garment or bag to take home
