The Tempest with Deos Contemporary Ballet

Join us in our Grand Rapids event space for an evening of ballet! We will be hosting some of the members of the Deos Contemporary Ballet company for a small sneak-peak of their Tempest performance, followed by a “behind-the-scenes” discussion of what goes into creating a character, what it’s like to adapt a piece of written work into movement, and more!

This event will be more discussion-based than performance-based, and is perfect for teens and adults who love Shakespeare, ballet, and learning about different art forms!

Deos Contemporary Ballet is a professional ballet company based in Grand Rapids, MI. Since 2018, Deos Ballet has presented unique and untold stories through professional dance performances in Grand Rapids and on tours around Michigan. We uplift artists through a culture focused on diversity, wellness, and empathy, while inspiring a broader audience through innovation in education, film, and live performances. With the goal of making contemporary ballet accessible to all, Deos Ballet continues to grow and participate in outreach performances in partnership with the Grand Rapids Art Museum, local and touring orchestras/choirs, and other arts organizations throughout the city.
