CHECKLIST FOR SUPERVISING TEACHER

2 Weeks to go:

Confirm final numbers at least two weeks before your tour/s.
Advise of any dietary requirements for both students and adults – e.g. allergy to nuts, coeliac
Plan so the minimum requirement of at least 2 adults accompanying each group is met
Inform all adults attending they are required to have Government issued I.D. with them on the day
Share this email with accompanying teachers

On the Day

Ensure all adults are carrying Government issued I.D. and sign in on entry to Parliament House
Arrive at the Parliamentary Annexe entry
Wait for your tour guide to collect you on either side of the doorway, ensuring students are not blocking the entry/exits

COVID-19
In accordance with Queensland Health advice, the Parliamentary Service formal COVID-Safe Plans for the Parliamentary Precinct and Members’ Electorate Offices have been rescinded due to a decline in cases.

Visitors who are feeling unwell are asked not to attend the precinct and those with visible symptoms may be refused entry to the precinct and/or restricted from participating in any public gathering events.

TRANSPORT:

Smaller coaches ie. Minibuses or vehicles with a maximum vehicle length of 7.5 metres may enter the Parliamentary Annexe forecourt and use the “set down” area.

No large coaches/buses are to enter the Annexe forecourt. These vehicles should be directed to use the designated bus parking areas within the CBD.

As part of your tour we will endeavour to give students an opportunity to participate in a scripted role play debate.

OLD GOVERNMENT HOUSE:

School visits to Old Government House located in the QUT grounds beside Parliament are available. These half hour tours are designed to complement upper primary school visits with us here at Parliament House. To book please visit the Old Government House website.
