This workshop complements the Orthopaedic Plastering workshop by exploring the range of orthopaedic soft tissue and bony injuries and joint dislocations that may present for emergency care. A key area of discussion is the recognition and  management of high risk injuries including those associated with limb ischaemia, compartment syndrome and avascular necrosis.  Other topics include joint dislocations, paediatric injuries, upper limb and lower limb fractures and soft tissue injuries. 

The workshop is ideal for clinical professionals managing a wide variety of orthopaedic presentations and will contribute toward a well rounded understanding of emergency orthopaedics that complements the practical splinting and casting skills taught in the Plastering workshop.
