Event description

Curious about the Taubman Approach to piano technique? Or just have a burning question? Master Teacher in the Taubman Approach to piano technique with the Golandsky Institute USA, Therese Milanovic, presents a new online workshop format.

In this special edition of Ten Minutes with Therese, we will look at some beloved works for the early intermediate level, Beethoven Sonatinas G major and F major, Anh 5, to start developing the skills for the 32 big sonatas waiting down the track!

If you would like a participant place, please email therese.milanovic@gmail.com after booking. Priority will be given to those who can attend live, and questions around the topic of Beethoven excerpts or repertoire from the early years of tuition.

Ten Minutes with Therese offer a flexible access point for those who want to learn a little more about what the Taubman Approach can offer, or for those who study regularly but just have that extra question to have answered.

All participants will be given access to the video after the event to review.

Therese is a passionate performer, educator, and musicians’ health advocate. After a decade of playing-related injuries, studying the Taubman Approach enabled her to resume her chosen pathway to the fullest. Therese was the first Australian to become a Taubman Instructor (2009), the focus of her PhD, and is the most experienced Taubman teacher in Australia (Master Level and Associate Faculty with the Golandsky Institute (USA). She is an advocate for musicians’ injury prevention and rehabilitation, providing access for curious interstate and international students through Skype and Coach on Demand consultations, alongside workshops, teacher training and lectures. Therese has been a Keynote Speaker for numerous national conferences including APPCA and ANZCA. She is committed to her ongoing learning and artistic development through continued study with Edna Golandsky and John Bloomfield via Skype.

As a performer, Therese loves collaborating with like-minded musicians. She has performed with Topology since 2009, including shows in the Netherlands, NYC, Belgium, and Indonesia, national tours and festivals. Chamber music is also close to her heart, presenting events to highlight lesser-known repertoire, in particular new music and music by women composers with the Muses Trio. Together, the Muses Trio have programmed 100% content by women composers since 2013, and released several albums including with ABC Classic. Otherwise, Therese plays Star Wars and soccer with her young son and attempts (unsuccessfully) to sneak vegetables in his meals.
