TENANGO PRIDE FLAG 2025
Event description
Our Tenango sessions are back! The Mexican Cultural Institute (MCI) is continuing this collaborative project for Pride Month 2025. We are in the process of creating a commemorative tenango embroidery banner, 6 meters high and 20 meters long, which will be displayed on the facade of the MCI throughout June.
This project is a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and the rich cultural heritage of Tenango de Doria, a small town located in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico, known for its vibrant embroidery and textiles. We are still looking for art and culture enthusiasts in the DMV area to join us in this exciting endeavor. Your participation will help us bring this beautiful artwork to life and showcase it to the community. Whether you have experience with embroidery or are simply eager to learn, there is a place for you in this project!
Join us and help create a meaningful and impactful artwork for Pride Month 2025. Together, we can make a difference and celebrate the beauty of diversity. Our next session will be on January 18 with two different times, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. If you have attended before, you can come and support us, have a coffee, or simply drop off your finished tenango. The fee for this session is $35 and includes all materials.
Please note that the time of ticket purchase is not transferable, and payments for this workshop are non-refundable.
