Tender Conversations
Event description
Tender Conversations: A heartfelt gathering for women who have experienced pregnancy, baby or infant loss.
Coffs Coast End of Life Care is honoured to host this community gathering.
It came about through conversations with local mamas and is offered freely to any women who have experienced pregnancy, baby or infant loss. We are creating a safe and tender space to have conversations that you may not be able to have anywhere else. It's a space to share your story without judgement, to listen to other mama's experiences; to honour our losses and connect with others who understand the unique journey of grief and hope.
Together, we’ll find courage and deep love in our shared experiences and inspire one another through deep listening. You are not alone; come as you are.
From the beautiful organisation Pink Elephants: "It's believed that when a mother elephant loses her baby, the other elephants stand in a circle around her, allowing her all the time she needs to grieve and mourn." This is not common practice within our society, so Lauren and I would like to change that and create community of mamas who are willing to stand around one another in support, care, vulnerability and love. An act of courage in today's society.
This offering is FREE and based on the premise of a "Death Cafe" - "A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death, grief, loss with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session."
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the tender nature of this topic this gathering is for adults only.
