Tender Funerals Documentary and Crowdfunding Launch
Description
Join us as we welcome Jenny Briscoe-Hough, CEO of Tender Funerals Australia, to launch Tender Funerals Tasmania's 2nd Crowdfunding Campaign, following the screening of Tender Funerals - A Documentary by Director, Lynette Wallworth.
Jenny is also the founder of the Tender Funerals Model of Care.
The Film:
Set against the stunning backdrop of the industrial seaside town of Port Kembla, a feisty and resilient community group have determined to take back the responsibility that most of us leave to someone else - to care for their own dead.
Scattered throughout are stories that cut to the core revealing why this small band have decided to take on a practice that for most is taboo.
As their plans for community-based funerals gather momentum one of their own is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Tender is at once a heartbreakingly beautiful and funny glimpse of an extraordinary community taking on one of the most essential challenges of human life...its end.
Tender Funerals Tasmania's plans for their modular home @ The Grace Centre in Hobart will be on display together with information from COTA Tasmania, Palliative Care Tasmania, and NILS Tasmania.
Tender Funerals Tasmania will share what they have achieved so far, and what is still needed and why, to become operational.
Bring a friend and enjoy a wonderful and inspiring afternoon!
