    Event description

Explore the beautiful Tennyson Dunes Conservation Reserve at this special open day event.

This important coastal ecosystem spans over 22 hectares but represents just a small percentage of what used to be here. It was declared a conservation reserve in 2015 to help protect the delicate reserve and its inhabitants.

    Visitors are invited to:

    • Embark on a free guided, expert-led tour to learn more about this fascinating ecosystem and its flora and fauna. IMPORTANT: Please choose and register for a free guided tour in advance at https://www.tennyson.org.au/ - places are limited and book out quickly.
    • Browse the interesting stalls from local environmental groups
    • Purchase a native coastal plant for your garden, or locally made, environmentally friendly gifts
    • Let children enjoy the kid-friendly activities on offer.

While you're there, take a walk along the 1.5km Discovery Trail to see what native wildlife you can observe, or make your way to the beautiful beach to breathe in the fresh sea air.

A BBQ stall and coffee van will be on site.

The dunes are accessible by bus - find the open day between bus stop 32A and 32B on Military Road, Tennyson. Parking is available at the Conservation Reserve and Oarsmen Reserve next to the rowing club.

Please note that registering for this open day does not mean you are registered for any tours. These need to be booked separately, in advance, at https://www.tennyson.org.au/

You do not need to print or show proof of registration to attend the open day.

If you register for a guided tour, we will have your name on a list.
