Term 3 Governing Council Forum: Engage and connect with the new Minister for Education, Training and Skills
We have a new Minister, and the newly re-elected Government is keen to move forward with their education election promises!
As key leaders within our Public Education learning system, this session will provide a fantastic opportunity for Governing Council Chairs to connect with our new Minister for Education, Training and Skills, the Hon. Lucy Hood MP. The session will allow you to engage in conversations to learn more about the priorities and passions she is bringing to this role, and to hear more about the government’s new priorities for public education.
When: Monday, 24th of August 2026
Where: Education Development Centre, Hindmarsh & online via Zoom (for country only)
Time: 7pm - 9pm
The forum will begin at 7pm and conclude at 8:30pm with networking afterwards from 8:30pm - 9pm.
It’s a terrific opportunity for Governing Council Chairs to network with each other as they think strategically about what these new opportunities might mean for their sites!
WHO'S INVITED - The Governing Council Chair from each department school/preschool site is warmly invited to attend, and are welcome to bring along ONE Governing Council Colleague to join the conversation.

Each School/preschool is invited to bring their Governing Council Chair or Parent Member and ONE other Governing Council colleague so that you can learn as a team!
- What time does it start?
This session starts promptly at 7pm and will conclude at 8:30pm with networking from 8:30pm - 9pm
