Term 4 Forum - High-impact strategies for improved attendance in low-SES school communities
Event description
Throughout the EEA's School Network's activities, we consistently hear that a critical leverage point for improved outcomes and equity is improving attendance. In particular, we have heard the need for understanding of the practical steps taken to shift from a culture of absence to one of attendance.
At this Forum:
Learn from two low-SES schools (St Albans Heights PS and St Albans SC) with above average attendance outcomes on the practical strategies implemented over time to improve attendance.
Consider – what are the key conditions required to shift to a culture of attendance? Where do you start? How do you strike the balance between whole-school and individual student attendance strategies?
