Event description

Suitable for Years 3 to 10

Available Session Times

  • Days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Times: 11.00 - 12.00PM, 1.45 - 2.45PM

Hosted by expert educators, your kids will learn how to create their own shadow puppet; and see a live performance of Wayang Kulit, among the best known puppet-shadow plays, offering a unique combination of lesson and entertainment.

The term wayang is the Javanese word for "shadow" or "imagination". In modern daily Javanese and Indonesian vocabulary, wayang can refer to the puppet itself or the whole puppet theatre performance. Kulit means "skin" or "leather", the material from which the figures are carved.

During this interactive virtual learning session your students will:

  • learn to create their own shadow puppet
  • see a live performance of Wayang Kulit

Build your students' capacity to be informed, responsible and active citizens who can contribute to the development of a world that is environmentally and economically sustainable, and socially just.
