How do we structure training?
The GIG methodology is built around the principle that the game itself is the best teacher. Training is designed to replicate the demands of real match situations so players can learn the skills, decisions, and behaviours that directly transfer to games.
Key elements:
Game-realistic practices – sessions are structured around scenarios players face in competition (e.g., 1v1, 2v1, 3v2).
Decision-making focus – players are constantly challenged to solve problems rather than repeat isolated drills.
Small-sided formats – maximise touches, involvement, and opportunities to attack, defend, and transition. If you're looking for sessions jumping through hoops, agility ladders we are not for you. We coach players to get better at playing football.
Coaching through guided discovery – instead of giving players all the answers, coaches ask questions and create environments that help players find solutions.
Holistic development – technical, tactical, physical, and psychological skills are developed together, not in isolation through PLAY.
