Come and learn how to make a terracotta irrigation pot with one of NECCHi’s Artist's-in-Residence! These pots are designed to be buried in a garden plot and filled with water. Because the pots are low-fired, the water gradually seeps out of the pot and into the surrounding soil, acting as a simple irrigation system.

Ria will take you through making your pot using hand-building techniques, so you will also be coming away with some basic ceramic skills. This is an easy-going and fun workshop, however places are strictly limited. If you are no longer able to attend the event, please let us know by emailing programs@necchi.org so that we can pass your ticket on to another keen participant!

About your host

Ria Soemardjo experimented with making her own quirky prototypes of ceramic flutes and drums during her residency at NECCHI East Coburg. With a background in visual arts, she loves to integrate her passion for making by hand, in her music and performance projects. She is an enthusiastic gardener, and loves to create events that bring people together to make useful and beautiful objects.
