Mini Worlds: Terrarium Workshop for Kids & Teens - South Canberra
Event description
🌿 Terrarium Workshop for Kids & Teens – Creative School Holiday Fun! 🌿 South Canberra
Limited spots available – small class sizes for a calm, focused experience.
Let your child build their very own tiny world in glass! In this hands-on, creative and educational 1.5-hour workshop, kids will learn about ecosystems, sustainable gardening, and design while crafting a beautiful, living terrarium to take home.
♨️ A STEAM-Powered Plant Adventure!
This hands-on workshop is packed with fun, curiosity, and creativity — all through the lens of STEAM:
🔬 Science – Learn about soil layers, microclimates, sustainable gardening, and plant care
💡 Technology – Discover how terrariums function as closed-loop ecosystems (like mini biospheres!)
🔧 Engineering – Design and build your own terrarium from the ground up
🎨 Art – Get creative with natural & upcycled materials to decorate your masterpiece
📐 Maths – Measure, mix, and calculate volumes and ratios like a true plant scientist!
· Kids are welcome to bring a small figurine (max 8cm) to include in their terrarium — LEGO figures are perfect! Please avoid wood or fabric items, as they may cause mould in a closed environment.
· This workshop blends science, sustainability, and self-expression — perfect for curious minds, budding environmentalists, and creative thinkers of all abilities.
