PD and field trip for laboratory technicians, upper primary and junior science teachers

8:45am: Sign in at front office.

9:00am: Mars compared to Earth - liveability and rock cycle exercise and weathering features.

10:30am: Rock and Critical Minerals Kits, hands-on integrated teaching with plate tectonics poster and online virtual 3D renders, rock thin sections, and rock and mineral stories.

11:15am: Break

11:30am: Wet Rocks - an introduction to groundwater and practical exercises.

12:30pm: Lunch

1:00pm: Data science for juniors, using seismology and local seismometers.

1:30pm: Data science using remote sensing with hands-on exercises.

2:30-4:00pm: Field trip, rock identification and weathering at Carr Villa Memorial Park, meeting location TBC.

Cost:

attendee from Host School – $50 plus GST and booking fees.

attendee from another School / Institution – $70 plus GST and booking fees.

There are two payment methods:

Preferred payment by credit card on registration.

Other payment options via invoice by direct deposit (bank transfer), or via invoice by credit card (please contact us at eo@tesep.org.au if you would prefer the latter – note it carries a handling fee).
