Tesse + Nick Winters

Tesse is the musical project of Sydney songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tom Stephens. Taking a hands on, all in approach, Tom writes, performs, and records much of the music himself.

His first two albums, How It All Unfolds (2018) and Everything Trying (2021), introduced a cinematic yet understated style, rooted in quiet observation and restraint. With his third album, Dead Night Drive (2025), that vision sharpens into focus - drawing listeners into a twilight world of reflection, endurance, and fragile beauty.

As Tesse, Tom has supported internationally acclaimed artists including Stella Donnelly, Jack River, and Angie McMahon. He has also contributed to a number of notable Australian artists and bands, including Julia Jacklin, Ainsley Farrell, Daily Toll, Georgia Mulligan, and Huck Hastings.

Tesse will perform an intimate acoustic set at the Gasoline Pony with very special guest Nick Winters (duo mode).
