Beat Breakdown | Lite Feet
Event description
Rise to the challenge and unleash your dance potential
Sydney dancers, it’s time to step up! Beat Breakdown is the newest 1v1 dance battle, bringing different styles to the Darling Harbour dance floor each month.
Whether you’re a master at breaking, popping, locking or waacking – this is your chance to share your style, win epic prizes and wow the crowd.
Beat Breakdown is an open battle, with 30 spots available. Signing up for the battle is free, and it’s also free to watch. Bring your talent and your crew, it’s all on us!
Each month, we celebrate a different dance style, and in November, it's all about Lite Feet! Lite Feet is a street dance style that originated in New York City, particularly within the Harlem community. It emerged in the early 2000s and is characterised by its energetic and rhythmic footwork, which includes quick, intricate steps and a ton of improvisation. The style is closely associated with hip-hop culture and often features a playful, competitive spirit. Lite Feet dancers often perform in cyphers (circle formations), showcasing their skills and creativity.
The best performer will be invited to a quarterly ‘All Star Battle’ in December.
