Test Garden – Natural Dye Workshop – October
Event description
Our monthly outdoor talk and creative workshop held in the Test Garden, designed for garden and plant lovers.
Each month, we hold a small group in-conversation event in the Test Garden, where you can hear from gardeners, designers and horticulturalists about the garden’s naturalistic planting style and learn about the new flowers in bloom.
The creative workshop provides an opportunity to take part in artist-led creative workshops designed to connect you with nature.
On Saturday 4 October, following talks in the garden with Claire Farrell and Jon Hazelwood, join Australian Tapestry Workshop’s natural dye specialist Heather Thomas to learn how to dye wool using eucalyptus leaves. The workshop will demonstrate the variety of colours that can be extracted from eucalyptus. Participants will enjoy a hands-on experience extracting natural plant colour onto yarn, and will take home some dyed wool colour samples.
Presented with the Australian Tapestry Workshop.
