Test Garden Open Day - November - Deanne Gilson
Description
Drawing Indigenous flowers with Deanne Gilson.
In collaboration between Fed Square and Koorie Heritage Trust, take inspiration from Deanne Gilson’s love of flowers and Indigenous flora. Using a black background, we’ll draw from life at the edge of the Test Garden, depicting the new blooms, fresh growth and other forms of life.
Listen to Deanne’s reflections on her art practice, appreciation of the natural world and the cultural landscape.
Learn from Deanne’s deep botanical knowledge and First Peoples’ perspectives, as well as her skills in painting and drawing.
We will be experimenting with oil pastels on black foamcore to create an original drawing, ready to take home and enjoy.
Arrive at 9:30am and help yourself to free tea or coffee for a 10.00am start
These events are held outdoors in the Test Garden. Please bring a hat or umbrella and water bottle
The Test Garden is located next to the Fed Square Car Park (Wilson Parking) on the Russell Street Extension
