Artist Opening Reception: 12 - 2pm

A Conversation with Texas Isaiah presented by The American LGBTQ+ Museum

Juneteenth Celebration: 2 - 5pm

In partnership with CoBE, come celebrate community, Juneteenth, and Pride as BOFFO’s groundbreaking Artist-in-Residence, Texas Isaiah, debuts bold new work, complemented by a poolside chat with Texas Isaiah in collaboration with the American LGBTQ+ Museum; followed by Juneteenth beats, soulful bites, and red drinks, with a specialty Juneteenth cocktail sponsored by Den of Thieves Whiskey.

Texas Isaiah is a first-generation visual storyteller born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and currently residing in Los Angeles, CA. He is an autodidact with a strong passion for travel, allowing his work and creative process to transcend geographical boundaries. In 2020, Texas Isaiah made history as one of the first known trans photographers to photograph a cover for Vogue, featuring notable figures such as Janet Mock, Patrisse Cullors, Jesse Williams, and Janaya Future Khan.

He received the Art Matters grant in 2018 and completed an artist residency at The Studio Museum in Harlem for the 2020-2021 term. Texas Isaiah's work has been exhibited internationally at various prestigious venues, including the Aperture Foundation Gallery, Schirn Kunsthalle, Dalhousie Art Gallery, NS, The Kitchen, The Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Hammer Museum, among others.
