Textile Remakers with BeeHealthy Stories and A Fitting Connection

Did you know that in Australia, 6 tonnes of textiles are sent to landfill every 10 minutes. This is equal to 31 kg per person every year!   Katrina from A Fitting Connection and Adam from Bee-Healthy Stories will join us for a hands-on PD, sharing innovative ways to tackle our textile waste problem.

'A Fitting Connection’ are a team of women, that have always loved clothing and textiles but were saddened by the carbon foot print it leaves in it’s wake. So they are doing something about it! They believe that for Australia to curve the textile waste crisis, our attitudes around textile ownership and disposal need to change. To do this they have purposefully designed workshops (for all ages) and programs (school) that engage and educate the community on the problem and importance of being more purposeful in their textile ownership and end-of-life disposal.

Bee Healthy Stories is a teacher’s one stop resource for engaging and effective educational materials on the subjects of, 'Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds and a Healthy Planet.' We are teachers with more than ten years’ experience working with children and created Bee Healthy so teachers like us could easily find high quality, well planned and engaging materials to use in the classroom.
