TFF: Mingle in White

A lunch gathering hosted by Prudence Tynan-Davey and the Torie Finnane Foundation, to acknowledge the great work of regionally based midwives (including Torie) and to raise awareness and support for the expansion of the Special Care Nursery at Orange Base Hospital.

This expansion will enable the nursery to double its capacity and support babies facing difficulties born in the area as well as those returning from metropolitan hospital care (before they return home).

“The proposed expansion would double our capacity to 8 babies, and this should provide certainty for women who are wanting to deliver their babies here in Orange, and also means that babies transferring back from Metropolitan Centres can do so at the right time. This expands our service and gives greater support to our community.” Dr Paul Bloomfield, Paediatrician and Head of Dept at Orange Health Service

The Torie Finnane Foundation has committed $250,000 towards this project and plans to raise the remainder (approx. $60,000) through fundraising efforts and sponsorships.
