Project #1: Bendigo Foodshare
Bendigo Foodshare (BFS) provides food relief to charities, community groups, neighbourhood houses, schools and kindergartens across central Victoria. At the beginning of 2020, these organisations estimated they were providing food relief to 12,875 people per week through hampers, community meals, school breakfasts, and pantries. They are pitching to increase knowledge and skills in growing, cooking and sharing food. They will do this through creating an inclusive community space, and by setting up pathways to employment, including; a social supermarket to offer food relief; a pop-up kitchen that serves as a café or cooking club; and a food garden.

Meet the presenter: Bridget Bentley, Manager, Bendigo Foodshare
Bridget has a strong belief that everyone should have access to healthy and affordable food. Since this is sadly not the case, Bridget and her team work hard to reduce food insecurity for those struggling within her community, through rescuing food otherwise destined for waste, distributing food relief and by running food skills programs.
Project #2: The Power in You Project
The PIYP offers a critical service that helps build the basic skills lost while battling addiction and mental health challenges. The program aims to build trust, self-confidence, leadership, and communication skills through a structured curriculum of learning emotional fundamentals and community engagement, as well as offering vocational counselling. They are pitching for funding to open support for vulnerable people to connect in a positive environment. They would use the funds for wages for two support workers to be on site over the weekend.

Meet the presenter: Kane Nuttall, Founder, The Power In You Project
Kane Nuttall founded The Power In You Project, a support service that takes the positives from largely negative experiences and uses them to empower participants to take control of their lives and become contributing members of the community.
Project #3: Youth Live4Life
Youth Live4Life is protecting lives where it matters most – saving young lives in rural communities through mental health education and suicide prevention.
With several independent evaluations, an impactful and awarded evidence-based model, and a waitlist of 20+ rural and regional communities, Youth Live4Life is pitching to reach more rural communities and save more young lives. Young people are our future. They should be able to live full lives and reach their potential, wherever they live.

Meet the presenter: Bernard Galbally, CEO, Youth Live4Life
Bernard Galbally was previously a Director of Youth Live4Life before being appointed CEO in May 2018. In that time, Youth Live4Life has expanded to six rural communities and is highlighted as an important case study in the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System's final report showcasing innovation in community-led mental health solutions for young people – “The Live4Life case study illustrates an example of a local organisation driving change in young people’s lives.”
