TFN is looking forward to finally returning to Brisbane for TFN Live on Wednesday 26 May, 2021

This will be an in-person event only - we will not be streaming the event to online guests. As places in the room are limited, please register your interest (click "Get Tickets", select the number of places you would like to reserve and enter your guest details) and a member of the TFN team will reach out to confirm your attendance.

Confirmed guests are welcome to arrive at 5:30pm for a 6pm start, at Clayton Utz (71 Eagle St Brisbane).

Please note that 10% of funds raised is retained by TFN in agreement with the NFPs pitching as a contribution to our operational costs

Project #1: The Carers Foundation

The Carers Foundation Australia provides unique wellness programs to support the emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of unpaid Carers. The main aim is to prevent mental-health crisis breakdowns in these Young-Carers by providing educational-workshops such as mental-health resilience strategies so they can cope under extreme situations-aiming to decrease depression/anxiety/and potential suicide-risk.

Meet the presenter: Ronnie Benbow, Founding Director

Ronnie trained as a Registered Nurse and Midwife with a Degree in Health Science. Ronnie personally and professionally understands the stresses of a caring role, and the unrelenting demands it requires. Ronnie is highly-motivated to continue providing this vital service to carers throughout Australia. 

 

Project #2: 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation

The 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation exists to aid, support and serve first responder and military personnel past and present, who are struggling with PTSD and related mental health issues, as a result of serving our Communities and our Nation. 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation is committed to motivating and equipping this demographic with the skills they need to take an active role in their recovery.

Meet the presenter: Gerry Garard, Founder and Chairman

Gerry served in Vietnam as 2nd Lieutenant for a year. He then spent most of career in Corporate Management. Gerry was awarded the Centenary Medal for service to his industry. Further, Gerry served on many boards, trusts, associations and government committees during his career. 

Project #3: Brainchild Foundation

The Brainchild Foundation’s ‘Better Tomorrows Program’ aims to ensure that every Queensland child diagnosed with a brain or spinal cord tumour is provided with the Allied Health support necessary for them to reach their full potential. This program will widen the support Brainchild currently has available to young people aged 0-24 years. Brainchild seeks to support young people who cannot access NDIS, particularly those aged over 7 who do not qualify for the NDIS ‘early intervention program’.

Meet the presenter: Vonnie Hastings, Co-Founder and Secretary

Vonnie Hastings is a retired oncology nurse. Vonnie has worked with families of children with a brain or spinal cord tumour, throughout her career and has witnessed the impact of these life-threatening diseases first hand. Vonnie is striving to make a difference for these children as they face a new tomorrow.
