TFN Virtual Live will take place on 25 February 2021 starting at 6:00pm AEDT, generously supported by IOOF Foundation and Waratah Foundation.

Project #1: Ganbina

Ganbina was established in 1997 by a group of local business leaders to help young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth in the Greater Shepparton community access jobs. The JOBS4U2 Program suite has since expanded to include support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and youth aged 5 – 25 in their active engagement in education, training and employment with a view to successfully transition from school to long term meaningful employment. They are pitching for funding to further develop The Accelerated Learning Program, which assists Ganbina participants in Years 3 – 6 develop their literacy and numeracy skills in a culturally sound learning environment.

Meet the presenter: Larissa Falla, General Manager, Ganbina

Larissa is a dedicated and driven community leader, faultlessly loyal to a cause she believes in. As a proud Dulgubarra Yidinji woman and mother of three, she is passionate about creating opportunities for the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders. “Competence breeds confidence and aspiration, achievement. If we encourage our kids to dream big and give them the support and tools they need to thrive as proud Aboriginal people, they are capable of anything.”

Project #2: Alithia Incorporated

Alithia’s mission is to provide specialised learning environments in which children’s social and emotional well-being are keys to lifelong learning and growth. The Alithia Learning Hub facilitates a variety of hands-on activities and workshops which use proven therapeutic techniques to support children as they develop their confidence, creativity, self-expression, and self-regulation. They will be pitching for funding for children in disadvantaged rural areas access to a variety of workshops and activities.

Meet the presenter: Talula Hughes, Founder, Alithia Incorporated

Talula has been the director of Alithia, since it was founded in 2016. Prior to Alithia, Talula worked for the Synectics Education Initiative, a UK charity which introduced innovative problem-solving tools and positive communication techniques into the education system. Talula runs training workshops for educators and parents.

Project #3: Ngarrimili

Ngarrimili provides wrap around, culturally informed support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creatives, entrepreneurs and businesses, developing capacity, entrepreneurialism and leadership in our community, by strengthening enterprise skills and governance. They are pitching for funding to continue and expand their existing programs across Victoria, with a commitment to long term sustainable support to the Victorian First Nations business eco-system through 1:1 business and trauma informed wellbeing support.

Meet the presenter: Cormach Evans, Co-Founder & CEO, Ngarrimili

Cormach is a proud Yorta Yorta man and father of two. He is the CEO and Founder of both Ngarrimili and Strong Brother Strong Sister. SBSS is a youth organisation that supports Aboriginal Children and Young People to achieve positive social and emotional wellbeing, whilst ensuring connections to culture and community.
