Event description

TGDI+ Pool Day is back for transgender, gender diverse, and intersex communities and our allies! Enjoy swimming, sunshine, and hanging out with community at the Canberra Olympic Pool with A Gender Agenda.
A huge thank you to GiveOUT and everyone who donated on GiveOUT Day for helping us make TGDI+ Pool Day happen!

We have booked the pool from 2:30-7 pm, so only community members and our allies will be in the space.

We'll be having a sausage sizzle from 5-6 pm in the outdoor picnic area, with meat & veggie sausages, onion, gluten & gluten-free bread, sauces, drinks, and Zooper Doopers. This BBQ is collecting gold coin donations to go towards Encampment 2025! A LGBTIQA+ camp for young people aged 13-17 years! You can bring gold coins on the day or make a donation through the AGA website if you wish. You are welcome to bring your own picnic dinner too.

Tickets are the price of pool entry, but there are also free tickets available for those who need them. If you need a free ticket and they are sold out please reach out to us at agaevents@genderrights.org.au

This event is open to transgender, gender diverse, and intersex people and our invited allies. Cisgender/endosex folk who have been invited by a member of the trans, gender diverse or intersex community are welcome to attend. This is an autonomous space for the safety and comfort of the trans, gender diverse and intersex communities, and we ask that this is respected.

All children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

A peer navigator with a trans flag will be waiting at the entry from 2:30-3 pm to let you in and direct you. If you arrive later than that, please call us on 0403 085 772.

Accessibility -

The Canberra Olympic Pool offers accessible parking, accessible change rooms, entry/exit access ramps, and pool hoist. The outdoor dive pool is 25m and the indoor heated pool is 50m. There is a picnic area with seating.

There will be peer navigators available on the day to support your engagement with the event. This is a safe and affirming space for all bodies, abilities, and people. If you are concerned about your safety or participation, please get in touch to discuss further and we can connect you with a peer navigator on the day.

If you have any questions or concerns about the accessibility of this event please get in touch with us at agaevents@genderrights.org.au or call us on 6162 1924.
