12th Positive Mindset Creative Arts Festival 2026 - The Showcase

The 12th Positive Mindset Creative Arts Festival returns in 2026 with a fresh and exciting new format! Since 2015, the festival has used the creative arts to promote positive mental health and wellbeing — and this year, students move from being spectators and performers to becoming active creators, collaborators and storytellers.

Primary and secondary students from Catholic, independent, public and distance education schools will come together for an inspiring day of drama, music, dance, visual arts and media arts, working alongside professional artists, educators and industry mentors. Through fun, hands-on creative workshops, students will develop new skills, express themselves, build confidence, make connections and discover the power of creativity and collaboration.

Mental health and wellbeing are woven throughout the day, with engaging activities and conversations exploring resilience, mental health literacy, recognising when someone may need support, reducing stigma, seeking help and looking out for one another. The festival provides a safe, inclusive and welcoming space where young people can connect across schools, cultures and backgrounds and discover that talking about mental health can be positive, practical and empowering.

The festival’s much-loved annual visual art exhibition will also continue, showcasing selected artworks submitted before the event as well as creative works produced during the day. The festival culminates in a collaborative showcase where students share their creations with families, teachers and the wider community — celebrating participation, creativity, connection and growth rather than competition.

At its heart, the festival is about bringing people together. Because when we create together, connect with each other and chat about wellbeing, we help build stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone can thrive.
