Description

Summary of the NSW DPIRD High Performance Pastures for Acid Soils project investigating lime, nutrient management, and pasture species adaptation.

Event details:

Join Central Tablelands Local Land Services to explore pasture performance on acid and ameliorated soils, with a focus on lime management, soil pH and pasture productivity.

This event is designed for commercial agronomists, farm managers and livestock producers operating commercial-scale farming enterprises. Attendees will gain insights into the economics of lime application, soil pH management, and the performance of pasture species across different soil conditions.

See replicated field trials at peak spring production and compare firsthand the performance of high-quality pastures on limed and un-limed soils.

Key takeaways:

  • Understand the economics and return on investment of lime application.

  • Compare pasture performance across different soil pH profiles.

  • View replicated field trial results under commercial farming conditions.

  • Discuss practical soil and pasture management strategies with NSW DPIRD researchers.

  • Network with fellow producers, agronomists and industry professionals.

Lunch will be provided. Stay after the field walk to enjoy lunch and discuss the latest findings with NSW DPIRD researchers from 12:00 pm onwards.

Additional details:

  • This is a Come Clean, Go Clean event. Please support farm biosecurity by arriving with a clean vehicle and clean footwear.

  • Lunch will be provided.
