This unique event launches the much anticipated EWB podcast: The Actioneers! Supporting the launch is a discussion with industry actioneers, Dr David Cruickshanks-Boyd, and Emma Dade who talk career pathways and how the newly announced engineering competencies are set to produce socio-technical engineers and a revamped profession.

Holds FIEAust CPEng EngExec and NER post nominals, is a champion of Aboriginal participation in engineering education and employment. His 40 years’ experience includes holding key industry positions as Member of the SA Minerals and Energy Advisory Council and Chair of the South Australia Governor’s Aboriginal Employment Infrastructure Cluster. During his tenure as Engineers Australia National President and Board Chair in 2015, David established a Diversity Committee and Policy management team. He is also a past deputy chair of the SA Environment Protection Authority, and former Director of Scope Global.
Emma Dade, Technical Director - Sustainability (APAC Region) | Senior Associate Sustainability Consultant at Jacobs
As a recognised and trusted sustainability leader Emma is the Technical Director for Sustainability (Asia Pacific region) and Senior Associate at Jacobs. She has significant experience working with diverse teams to develop abstract and complex ideas into clear strategies and actions, and is incredibly passionate and proud of the unique skillsets and success that inclusive and diverse teams bring.
As a registered Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP) for over 6 years, Emma provides technical verification and support to many of the infrastructure Sustainability (IS) rated projects across the business and has held roles in several industry working groups aimed at informing updates to the IS Rating tool.
Her passions include human-centered design and promoting the concept of humanitarian engineering in the engineering sector. As a long-term executive committee member of Engineers Without Borders she coordinated leadership and training programs for four years and managed Corporate partnerships in the WA Region for 2 years, and has facilitated and mentored on two Humanitarian Design Summits in Cambodia with Engineers Without Borders Australia.
