The Adaptation Game: Play, connect and explore possible futures for Auckland

Play is one of the ways we learn, connect and imagine new possibilities for the future.

As part of Play Week Aotearoa, join us for the Auckland launch of The Adaptation Game (TAG), an interactive and story-driven experience that brings people together to explore how communities can prepare for future challenges and thrive in a changing climate.

Using Auckland maps, local stories and collaborative decision-making, TAG invites participants to step into possible futures, share ideas, test solutions and discover how communities can build resilience together.

Played in small groups with a facilitator, TAG is not about being good at games. It's about conversation, creativity and connection.

During the session you'll:

• Explore the new Auckland version of The Adaptation Game

• Connect with others who care about their communities and neighbourhoods

• Discover local climate challenges through stories and shared decision-making

• Explore practical ways communities can prepare for future disruptions

• Experience how play can spark new ideas, confidence and collective action

No gaming experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity.
