Event description

Get a team of 5 people together and get ready to take on the Amazing Race Ashburton! Suitable for families, groups of friends or workplace teams. The inaugural event in 2023 was very popular - see this video to get a feel for how it went. We had fun again in the 2024 edition but also had some learnings from it. We have made some changes to the way the 2025 event will run so it is set to be smoother, bigger and the best yet! 

Challenges are all in the wider Ashburton township and will test your team's physical, creative, musical and teamwork skills. The aim is to have fun! But there are also cash prizes for the winners, for the competitive among you! 

You'll get points at each challenge, so it's not just about getting speedily to the finish line, although that will help! Points will be awarded for best dressed teams so think about a costume or team kit that would set you apart from the others. 

Teams will need to be at the Collegiate rugby grounds on Smithfield Rd, Netherby by 12pm on Saturday April 5th 2025. We'll take photos of your team so our judge can assess each team's outfits and then we'll give you the race briefing before you'll get your first clue and head off around 12.30pm.
(Note: this is earlier than previous years as we've sped up the check in & costume judging process. Please ensure you have lunch with you or eat prior/ during the race as we are not providing lunch.)

Prizegiving, entertainment and light supper will conclude the event, before you head home around 5.00pm.

To register you will need

- a team of exactly 5 members
- a team name (enter it under 'last name' field when registering or advise later on)
- to pay $75 per team ($15 per person) This is to pay for all the venue hire, food, materials, prize money and other costs involved in putting on the race, plus some of it will be going toward the non-profit groups running and helping with the event. So you are supporting local charities by being a part of it!

Please note: entries will close on March 26 or earlier if the maximum number of teams is reached so get in quick to avoid disappointment. If a minimum numbers of teams (15) are not registered by March 26, the race will not proceed and your tickets will be refunded.
