The Art of Arguing Well Masterclass
Event description
Ever left an argument beating yourself up for what you should’ve said?
You’re not alone: it feels like most arguments these days end in misery, confusion, criticism or defeat –without properly sharing our views.
So, how do we get better at arguing in a way that propels the conversation forward constructively? How do we turn our arguments into sources of insight and understanding?
Join The Art of Arguing Well Masterclass with philosopher and author Dr Tim Dean to discover:
- How tribalism, clashing worldview and polarised discourse leads to us generally being terrible at disagreeing
- What ideological diversity is and the nature of disagreement
- The importance of diversity and disagreement
- How to respectfully listen to others & synthesise opposing theories
- How to articulate a persuasive argument
- How to develop a rational opinion
- The rules of rational discourse, and how to avoid those who break them
The author of ‘How We Became Human and Why We Need to Change’, join Dr Tim Dean and Small Giants Academy as together we explore the importance of disagreement and how to make our arguments rich and enlightening.
We look forward to welcoming you.
