The Art of Rest
Event description
"In a culture that glorifies busyness, rest is a skill that takes practice" - James Reeves.
The Art of Rest is a series of five weekly sessions to support you to rediscover your body's innate ability to rest.
Schedule some rest into your week and intentionally make space for yourself with these deeply rejuvenating candle lit afternoons.
Each Sunday you will be guided supported by gentle yoga, meditation and breathing practices in order to rediscover your innate capacity to rest.
You will also be introduced or re-acquainted with the practice of restorative yoga, where there will be no doing, instead you will be cradled, cushioned & supported by yoga props to rest for up to 15 minutes in a posture.
The Art of Rest series is a perfect antidote to modern living and would suit anyone seeking deep rest in their lives as well as those experiencing stress, insomnia & fatigue, those managing chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), adrenal fatigue and postnatal depletion.
No experience is necessary and all bodies are welcome however spaces are limited.
Each participant will receive a complimentary eye pillow for their personal rest practice.
What to bring:
- A light blanket to cover yourself
- Socks if your feet get cold
- A water bottle
- Comfortable clothing for resting in
- A low cushion or bath towel
The perfect Mother's Day gift!
*Please note this session is accessed by stairs and the room will be dimly lit to reduce light stimulation.
