Art and medieval revival at St Peters Eastern Hill
In this talk we will explore the many significant artworks at St Peters that were modelled on famous medieval and Renaissance works, from Byzantine mosaics to Italian madonnas- a rich history of both faith and art-historical revivals.
Join us for the evening of 20th August for a tour of the artwork of St Peter’s Eastern Hill led by Professor Anne Dunlop, the Herald Chair of Fine Arts at the University of Melbourne - this is one of the few places you can see such fine original and reproduction art in the liturgical setting for which it was intended.
There will be two sessions on the evening on Thursday 20th August, 5.30pm and 7.30pm. The second session will only be available if there is demand for it. Ticket bookings will be available accordingly.
