We will discuss about the dynamic of Australian federal election that will take place on the 3rd of May especially given the external shock of Trump tariff. Further discussion will be conducted on their impact on politics, economics, and society.
Discussants:
Dr Craig Applegate is an Assistant Professor at University of Canberra, Craig teaches Macroeconomics, International Economics and Public Sector Economics at the University of Canberra.
Associate Professor Michael Jensen is an associate professor with political communication background. Mike has published books with Cambridge University Press and Palgrave concerning online political behaviour. His work concerns the use of digital communication technologies in the development of new forms of political organization within political campaigning and protest movements.
Dr John Hawkins is a senior lecturer in economics at the Canberra School of Politics, Economics & Society at the University of Canberra. He holds a PhD from ANU and an MSc from the London School of Economics. Before his academic career he was a senior economist in the Reserve Bank and Treasury. He also served as secretary of the Senate Economics Committee. He writes extensively in The Conversation.
