The Australian Voices - The Question of Love - Melt Festival
Event description
The Question of Love promises to be a moving tribute to love, diversity, and inclusion, showcasing songs that highlight the beauty and strength of the LGBTQ+ community.
The evening will feature excerpts from Watershed, an oratorio by Brisbane-based composer Joseph Twist and produced by Opera Australia. It tells the story of the drowning of Dr George Ian Ogilvie Duncan, whose death led South Australia to decriminalise homosexuality ahead of the rest of the country.
Another highlight of the concert will be a piece dedicated to Alan Turing, honouring the legacy of the brilliant mathematician and code-breaker whose contributions changed the world.
Come and experience the magic of choral harmony as we honour the spirit of equality and pride.
