Event description

Maria Ppiros is excited to be returning to Nature Festival in 2024, this time in partnership with the Adelaide Sustainability Centre.

Accompany Maria in this interactive, activity-based workshop held at The Joinery, to engage with your senses and connect with nature.  We will explore native South Australian edible flora, focussing on a handful of particular Kaurna botanicals, and learn about the intersections between botanical illustration, food, cooking and mindfulness to engage with and rediscover the awe of nature.

All materials are provided, so come along for a fun and educational time engaging with nature and connecting with like-minded people.  You will take part in three guided activities, including guided botanical illustration and a cooking session learning how to incorporate native ingredients into everyday recipes.  Water, tea and coffee will be provided throughout the workshop, with special native ingredient tastings and a delicious, super easy lunch you prepare yourself also part of the activities and experience.  Please provide dietary requirements during the ticket/booking process when prompted.

Please note:

The Joinery is located in the CBD of Adelaide, just a short walk from Adelaide Central Market in the Gouger Street precinct.  Unfortunately, there is limited street parking available on Franklin St and Morphett St; however, there is a pay carpark next to The Joinery building (UPark on Andrew St, with entrances from Morphett St and Grote St) and another near the Adelaide Bus Depot (entry on Grote St).

_______________

Maria would like to acknowledge that these workshops will be conducted on land that is the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and she respects their past, present and future physical and spiritual relationship with their Country.
