The Bedding Industry Stewardship Model: What's changed and how you can participate

The Australian Bedding Stewardship Council (ABSC) invites you to an online information session on the finalised Bedding Industry Stewardship Model.

In response to barriers to industry participation and the commercial challenges in mattress recycling, the model has changed from the draft design presented during our consultation in October - November 2021. We encourage you to join an online information session to hear about:

• The revised Product Stewardship Fee
• Increasing industry participation and sustainability of the Scheme
• Marketing and consumer education
• Growing the network of mattress recyclers
• Formal commitments and participation

We want to emphasise that this is the start of the bedding stewardship journey in Australia, not the end game. With collaborative action and investment from a committed industry, a sustainable stewardship scheme will be advanced.

Two information sessions are being held. The content and Q&A for each session is relevant only to the target audience. Please register for the one session appropriate to your industry or organisation.

1. REGISTRATION CLOSED. Bedding Industry (non ABSC members): Mattress manufacturers, retailers and online retailers: Wednesday 31 August 2022, 10 am - 11.30 am AEST.
   
2. REGISTRATION CLOSED. Waste and Resource Recovery Industry, Government and interested stakeholders: Thursday 1 September 2022, 10 am - 11.30 am AEST.
