Event description

Did you know that Parramatta Park is home to a colony of Grey-headed Flying Foxes? You may have seen them soaring over your house at dusk!

Join us for an evening of bat-tastic fun as our expert guides share fascinating insights into these remarkable nocturnal mammals.

Enjoy hands-on bat crafts and take part in a unique citizen science experience, collecting data as the colony embarks on its spectacular evening flyout. As they set off in search of fruit and nectar, you'll witness firsthand their vital role in pollination and seed dispersal—essential for a thriving ecosystem.

Don't miss this chance to learn, create, and marvel at the magic of flying foxes!

Families are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the park before the program begins.

The program is for children ages 5-12 years. Children need to be supervised. The accompanying adult is included in the combined ticket.

Special notes: This program is a popular family program so please book early to avoid disappointment. Bring a torch and dress warmly.
