The Big Chill
Description
The Big Chill is a 6-hour music festival featuring six local performing acts representing various genres of rock, folk, and Americana music. There will be several food vendors, activities, and retail vendors, including crafters with handmade original items, clothing vendors offering original designs, and artists.
The Big Chill will showcase the diversity of music and small businesses on the South Shore. It will bring together like-minded individuals to foster new relationships between local artists, community, non-profits, and retail business.
The event is a collaboration between Thunderbolt Productions and Fire For Effect Foundation, Inc. to support and raise awareness of the mission of FFEF to honor and serve veterans and first responders and their families.

Yes, there is free parking across the street. Carpooling is encouraged.

Yes! There will be a variety of food and beverage trucks on-site throughout the event.
- Can I bring in outside food or beverages?
Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed.
- Will alcohol be available?
Yes, alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. A valid ID is required. Outside alcohol is not permitted, and any alcohol purchased on-site must stay within the event grounds.
- Is the event rain or shine?
Yes, The Big Chill will take place rain or shine unless severe weather.
- Is the venue handicap accessible?
The event takes place on a grassy field that is accessible for both strollers and wheelchairs.
- Is this a pet-friendly event?
No. We kindly ask that you leave pets at home. Thank you for understanding (certified service animals allowed).

Matt Bishop
Matt Bishop is a dynamic artist based on the South Shore. Taking influence from folk, country, and singer-songwriters. Matt's original compositions reflect his deep connection to the coastal landscape and the stories that unfold within it, while his covers pay homage to a diverse array of influences. He brings energy and passion to each performance, creating a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

Joanne The Band
A super cool Boston based indie-folk duo, Joanne The Band is comprised of Anna VanValkenburgh and Jocelyn Bailey. The pair started off as coworkers and never truly left that title. They spent 2 years writing with each other leading to their debut project, Neither All or In Between.

The Local Waves
The Local Waves refer to themselves simply as ‘2 local guys spreading summer vibes through music’. Adam Frates and John DeBellis are mainstays in our scene. Having performed all over the South Shore, their reggae-inspired sound brings the beach life to every performance. The Local Waves’ music will transport you to a relaxing vacation paradise.

Wayside Sound
Wayside Sound is an Americana-blues band from Boston and the Cape specializing in timeless classics and organic originals. Led by Taylor and Jack, who charm listeners with a homegrown sound, they are guided by their commitment to creating memorable and intimate performances. Their music is defined by emotive improvisation, powerful storytelling, and contagious passion.

Gordon’s Law
Gordon's Law is an acoustic-driven rock and folk duo based in the South Shore region of Massachusetts, formed by local musicians Gordon Lloyd (vocals, guitar) and Adam Law (vocals, percussion). The duo regularly performs at regional venues, breweries, and concert series. Their music combines smooth vocal harmonies with rhythmic acoustic instrumentation.

Kate Loraine
One of the fastest rising artists on the South Shore, Kate Loraine brings a whimsical perspective to navigating life, love, loss, and resilience. With relatable storytelling and an unmistakable voice, her live performance winds seamlessly through rock, folk, and pop, leaving every audience spellbound. Her relentless touring schedule is matched only by a continual release of new music throughout the year. A self-described singer, songwriter, performer, & art historian, Kate’s engaging lyrics and energizing melodies are cementing her as a new generation Pop-Punk Princess.
