The Business Social is an evening designed to help you expand your business circle, meet new people and make genuine connections with others in Tauranga's business community.

No trying to work out who to approach. No spending the whole night talking to the three people you already know.

We'll help start the conversations.

How the night works

Doors open at 6 pm, giving you time to grab your welcome drink, settle in and start meeting people.

Dinner and bar snacks will be available to purchase from The Tauranga Club - we suggest ordering ahead by emailing events@taurangaclub.co.nz so they can have it ready for you, either before the event or during the break.

At 7 pm, the speed networking begins.

You'll be matched with another attendee for a short conversation before it's time to move on and meet someone new. We'll keep the introductions moving, with a break halfway through and conversation starters available if you need a little inspiration.

The idea isn't to sell your business in three minutes.

It's to find out who's in the room.

You might meet a potential client, collaborator, supplier or referral partner. Or you might simply meet another Tauranga business person you're really glad you now know.

Once the speed networking finishes, stick around. We'll keep the music going, the bar will be open, and you'll have plenty of time to go back to the people you wanted to talk to for longer.

Who's it for?

The Business Social is primarily for business owners, but we know they're not the only people building relationships on behalf of a business.

Managers, team members and others who represent their business in the local community are very welcome too.

There are no industry restrictions and no one-business-per-category rule. You may find yourself sitting opposite someone who does exactly what you do. That's okay.

Come ready to meet people, make connections and respect everyone in the room.

$15 + GST per person

• One house wine, beer or non-alcoholic welcome drink

• Entry into our door prize draws

• Music and social networking after the structured session

Dinner, bar snacks and additional drinks are available to purchase separately.

Don't forget your business cards

Bring a few to exchange with the people you'd like to stay connected with, and make sure you have at least one spare.

You'll need it to enter our door prize draws on the night.
