The Canterbaby Club: Mother’s Day Bake & Play

Cookies. Toddlers. Flour everywhere. It’s the recipe for a messy kitchen — but not this time. That’s why our next Canterbaby Club event is all about rolling up your sleeves somewhere else and letting your little one bake, craft, and play (while you enjoy a mimosa).

Join us at the beautiful Riverside Kitchen for a laid-back Mother’s Day Bake & Play session. You and your child (toddler age or bigger — so that they can reach the bench to bake!) will dive into a hands-on cookie baking class, guaranteed to bring giggles, flour-dusted noses, and sweet memories.

While the cookies bake, the awesome team at The Make Company will keep the kids busy with their crafts (because “waiting patiently” is not in a toddler’s vocabulary). Meanwhile, you can sip a mimosa, snack from a grazing table designed beautifully by Unic Picnics, and enjoy some grown-up conversation.

Bringing a younger sibling? No stress. We’ve set up a playpen space, so they can nap, wriggle, or watch the action while you enjoy yourself.


This isn’t one of those events where you have to look polished or stress if your kid has a meltdown. We know the drill. Come as you are — rock the pram, breastfeed mid-bake, sip coffee while bouncing a baby on your hip. No judgment, no pressure.

Giving back
nook NZ and The Canterbaby Club are proud to donate 10 per cent of ticket proceeds to Bellyful Christchurch, a fantastic local charity that delivers meals to families with newborns or young kids who need a hand. You’ll also head home with a goodie bag to make the day feel even more special.

Bringing extra budding bakers? Additional baking-age kids are $20 each. Got a younger baby or toddler who’s not baking? No extra charge — they’re welcome to hang out in the play space or with you while you enjoy the morning.

We’re thrilled to welcome back the wonderful Gemma from  Love, Gem Photography, who’ll be there to capture all the fun — from the sticky fingers to the sweet mum-and-bub moments. You’ll even have the chance to snap a gorgeous portrait to buy at a discounted rate.
