The UNSW Antiracism Collective and Critique Now present an online seminar with Maya Wind and Nick Riemer who will discuss the international movement for an academic boycott of Israeli universities, the legal obligations of universities to not be complicit in human rights violations, and the unfolding scholasticide in Gaza.Â
Maya Wind is a Killam Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia and the author of Towers of Ivory and Steel: How Israeli Universities Deny Palestinian Freedom (Verso Books, 2024). Nick Riemer is a Senior Lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Sydney and the author of Boycott Theory and the Struggle for Palestine: Universities, Intellectualism, and Liberation (Rowman and Littfield, 2023).Â
