THE CHARMING SONS play CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL + THE GREAT AUSSIE SONGBOOK!
Description
Announcing an unforgettable night to kickstart your Grand Final long weekend at the amazing Wickers Club!
Melbourne, Victoria-based Charming Sons are a high-energy Australian rock band blending soulful rock, blues grooves, and stadium-ready anthems. Michael Stangel (lead vocals, guitar) is a multi-platinum songwriter/producer known for work with Shannon Noll, The Veronicas, Human Nature, and more. A 2013 The Voice Australia finalist (Team Joel Madden), he brings commanding vocals and melodic firepower.
This show sees them in full band mode and features the renowned virtuoso Matt Dwyer on guitar and Venom on drums.
Their sound delivers raw riffs, driving rhythms, and crowd-unifying choruses—perfect for packed venues and epic moments.
This acclaimed show is a celebration of Classic American Rock performing the songbook of the legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival. Expect to hear their catalogue of hits from Suzie Q to Bad Moon Rising through Proud Mary, Who'll Stop the Rain, Fortunate Son.... the lot!
All delivered with tight grooves, blistering harmonies, and a knack for chanelling CCR's swampy sound.
And to complement the unique Australian flavour of the AFL Grand Final, the Sons will open the night with a brilliant selection of tunes from the Great Aussie Songbook.
Expect to hear bangers from the likes of Paul Kelly, Dragon, INXS, Cold Chisel and Divinyls along with some well chosen classics you may not have heard for some time. Genuine crowd-pleasers guaranteed to get you moving!
It promises to be another memorable night.
