The Christmas Cup 2026: Social Beach Volleyball & Supball - Charity Fundraiser for Pass it on Clothing & Co

The Christmas Cup is a charity fundraiser supporting Pass It On Clothing & Co., which provides free clothing and meaningful connection to people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage across Manly, Sydney and NSW.

Over the past 10 years, Pass It On has distributed more than 400,000 pieces of clothing, delivered over 1,250 outreach services and supported 50,000 people.

The next step is the Pass It On Academy, a program designed to help people living in public housing build confidence, develop practical life and work skills, and move towards employment and independence.

Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for people experiencing homelessness. The Christmas Cup is our way of bringing people together, raising awareness and helping Pass It On continue its work.

How the Christmas Cup works

The event brings together the Beach Volleyball and Supball communities, along with complete beginners, for a day of social sport and Christmas celebrations.

When purchasing your ticket, please provide:

• Your gender.

• Your Beach Volleyball grading or experience, from AAA through to ungraded or complete beginner.

• Your Supball experience: experienced, intermediate, beginner or first-time.

• Any team requests, including whether you’d like to reunite with last year’s team or play alongside someone in particular.

Teams will be drawn before the event and balanced as evenly as possible. You’ll compete alongside the same teammates in both sports for your chance to lift the Christmas Cup!

What’s included in your ticket?

• A charitable donation to Pass It On Clothing & Co.

• Social Beach Volleyball and Supball games.

• A sausage sizzle between games, including vegan options.

• Two complimentary drink vouchers for the afterparty at The Ivanhoe Hotel.

• Canapés, pizzas and more at the afterparty, including vegan options. If last year is anything to go by, there’ll be plenty!

• Live music and entertainment.

• Medals for the top three teams and the Christmas Cup for the winners.

A social day, with a little friendly competition

Everyone is here to have fun, whatever their experience. Deliberate intimidation, dangerous play or behaviour that puts others at risk will result in a straight red card.

Encourage the beginners, support your teammates and bring your Christmas spirit!

The schedule

10:00am — Registration at Manly Cove, West Esplanade

Arrive for registration and a rundown of the day. Have a big breakfast and come ready to go!

Pass It On will also have a clothing donation bin available, so you’re welcome to bring quality clothing you no longer wear to help someone doing it tough this Christmas.

10:30am–12:30pm — Social Beach Volleyball

Kick things off with Beach Volleyball at Manly Cove. Each team will include at least one experienced player to help others learn the game.

There’ll be regular breaks, and you’re welcome to spend some time cheering from the sidelines and socialising.

Games will be timed, with no score limit. When the clock runs out, the result stands: three points for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss.

12:30pm–2:00pm — Lunch and a change of scenery

After allowing a little extra time for any Beach Volleyball overruns, we’ll head to The Office, East Esplanade, for a break and a chance to socialise.

We’ll provide a sausage sizzle for everyone, including vegan sausages. You’re welcome to BYO drinks and extra snacks.

2:00pm–4:00pm — Social Supball

Time to take the competition onto the water! Each team will include at least one experienced Supball player to help newcomers find their feet.

As with Beach Volleyball, there’ll be regular breaks and no pressure to play every minute. You can enjoy the action from the sand or get out on the water with your team.

The same scoring applies: timed games, no score limit, three points for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss.

4:00pm — Freshen up

Head home, get changed and get ready for the afterparty at The Ivanhoe Hotel, Manly Corso.

5:30pm–10:30pm — Christmas Cup afterparty

Join us upstairs on Level 2 at The Ivanhoe Hotel, where we have The Loft exclusively booked for the evening.

The entire second floor is ours, with a private bar, private bathrooms, an outdoor balcony terrace, a dance floor and plenty of seating.

Your name will be checked on arrival, and you’ll receive a wristband and two complimentary drink vouchers. Canapés, pizzas and other food will be served throughout the evening, with vegan options included.

We’ll start with the awards ceremony:

• Gold, silver and bronze medals for the top three teams.

• The Christmas Cup for the winning team — and yes, you can drink out of it!

• Possible special prizes for those who go the extra mile with their effort, outfits or Christmas cheer.

Any ties for podium places will be settled by a dance-off, so consider that part of your preparation!

There’ll also be a raffle supporting Pass It On Clothing & Co., with prizes from a range of sports. Even if your team misses the podium, you could still head home a winner.

After the awards and raffle, it’s time for live music, dancing and celebrating a great day together.

10:30pm onwards — Keep the party going

The second floor will open to the public, and The Ivanhoe’s DJs will take over for anyone keen to kick on.

Please respect everyone throughout the day — your teammates, opponents, organisers and the people serving you. It’s Christmas. Let’s make it a great day for everyone!
